Fair Skies in St Merryn is moments away from seven sandy beaches. Our closest is Harlyn Bay, but Trevone, Constantine, Mother Ivey’s, Booby’s, Porthcothan and Treyarnon are all within a few minutes. Let’s explore each to showcase these wonderful places.

Harlyn Bay is an expansive flat sandy beach just 1.4 miles from Fair Skies. You can walk to it in about half an hour along country roads.
Please note there is limited mobile phone reception in this area.

Porthcothan Bay is a good-sized sandy beach just 2.4 miles from Fair Skies along a scenic road. The beach is smaller than Harlyn Bay.
Please note there is limited mobile phone reception in this area.

Constantine Bay is a wide, flat sandy beach popular with walkers as well as dogs. There are limited surfing opportunities here, but it’s best for sunbathing or being in the sea.
By the car park is a shop and cafe that also has toilets. During busier times, a mobile coffee shop pops up on the beach.
You can easily walk on the coastal path to Treyarnon Bay one way or Booby’s Bay the other.
Parking is quite restrictive with probably only 10 or so spaces. Treyarnon has more spaces and sometimes a local field gets opened in the peak season.

The beach at Trevone Bay is a little smaller than some of the others, but just as great with fabulous sunsets.
It's a 30-minute walk along the coastal path, with stunning scenery, and you'll see the natural seawater swimming pool.
Trevone offers a wonderful surf shop, cafe and outside bar with plenty of options for all the family. There are two camera-operated car parks using the Just Park app. Be aware that mobile coverage is patchy, and they issue fines for non-payment.

At the end of a windy lane is the large oval bay of Treyanon. The beach is vast, flat and sandy with great surfing options. There’s a large car park, toilets and restaurant here. You can walk the coastal path to Constantine Bay in about 10 minutes.
Parking is camera-controlled. It costs £1 all day from November to February and £5 from March to October. You can pay with coins or via debit card. There is no app, but the mobile signal is good.

Mother Ivey’s Bay is a wide, shallow beach with golden sands. At one end is the Padstow lifeboat station, and the other is a private beach owned by the adjacent campsite.
Access is down a narrow country lane But there is no parking at the beach. The nearest car parks for visitors are at Trevose Head or Harlyn Bay.
You can walk along the public coastal path and enjoy all seven bays. The path takes you past some wonderful views. You should wear suitable clothing and take water as the route around Trevose Head can be challenging in parts.
The area is known as “7 bays for 7 days” purely because you could visit a different beach each day for an entire week!
Mother Ivey’s Bay is also known as Polventon Bay. The adjacent holiday park owns the beach, but it‘s open to the public.
